SPI to screen 'The Greenest Building' Thursday

Sagadahoc Preservation Inc. will screen The Greenest Building on Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 pm at Winter Street Center.  SPI is celebrating Preservation Month during May and this year's theme of See! Save! Celebrate!  The film explores whether preservation and retrofitting of older buildings is ultimately more sustainable than demolition and new construction.  "Our buildings are most likely our most significant consumer products. Yet, for whatever reason, we don’t think of them as such and everyday, across America, buildings are demolished and thrown away."  This movie won several awards, including the 2011 Cine Winner Golden Eagle Award and a People's Choice Bronze Telly Award.  Produced by Wagging Tale Productions, it was received with great fanfare and continues to promote conversations and debate across the country.  SPI is proud to offer this event free of charge to the community and refreshments will be available.  Winter Street Center is located at 880 Washington Street in Bath.  For more information, call 443-2174.
