Pingree's office accepting requests for inauguration tickets

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree announced today that she has set up a page on her website to accept requests from constituents for free tickets to the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies on Jan. 21, 2013, in Washington, D.C.

“Presidential Inaugurations are important moments in our nation’s history, and this year will be no exception.  I’ve already heard from many Maine residents who want to be there for it,” said Pingree.  “Unfortunately, Congressional offices only receive a limited number of tickets to distribute.  To make it as fair as possible, my office will hold a lottery for all that are available.  I encourage folks who are interested in attending to put their names in.”

To enter their names into the drawing, constituents should fill out the request form at before Friday, Dec. 14.  Tickets are not needed to watch ceremonies from the National Mall.

More information on the Inauguration is available at the official webpage of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies,
