Kim Hetherington to show paintings at Tidemark

"Lemons in a Dutch Bowl," oil on linen, by Kim Hetherington

WALDOBORO — Delectable little paintings by Bremen artist Kim Hetherington are the focus of a new show, “People, Places and Things: 2012,” to open at Tidemark Gallery on Sept. 12.

Hetherington, who does portraits, landscapes and still lifes, is a relative newcomer to the art world. Her landscape-design business in Washington, D.C., led her to study art about 10 years ago at the Art League, where she learned the basics of oil painting from the portrait painter Rob Liberace. Since then, she’s continued her art education with David Leffel, Lisa Semerad and Stanley Bielen; and in Maine with Tina Ingraham, Colin Page and Kay Sullivan.

Tidemark Gallery will host an opening reception on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 902 Main St., Waldoboro. For more information, visit or phone 832-5109.
