Oratorio Chorale to present Baroque masterpieces in time for Bach's birthday

Johann Sebastian Bach

BATH -- J.S. Bach, born on March 21, 1685, was one of the most prolific composers of his era, but he wasn't the only one.  This year, the Oratorio Chorale will produce one of his large choral works, his Mass in G-Minor, also known as the Lutheran Mass, along with Handel's "Foundling Hospital Anthem" and the marvelous Vivaldi Gloria, together with the Maine Chamber Ensemble.

Soloists include Jennifer Hansen, mezzo-soprano, Timothy Neill Johnson, tenor, John D. Adams, bass, and Aaron Dustin and Dana Hinchliffe, boy sopranos.

The spring concerts will take place on Saturday, March 17, 7:30 p.m., at Studzinski Recital Hall, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, and Sunday, March 18, 3:00 p.m. at Falmouth Congregational Church, Falmouth.

Tickets $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Half price for students.
