Sun and shadow, celebration and sorrow - dozens of Waldoboro residents turned out to mark Memorial Day with a parade, music, a patriotic speech and wreath-tossing into the Medomak River. The age-span in the crowd was more than 80 years, and the political spectrum probably almost as wide. But it felt like a coming together, a community observance of something very significant.
